Songs For A Wedding

Published April 18, 2006 @ 10:50 in Music

MusicLate next month, my little brother Stephen is getting married. I have been given the most important role in any celebration. I'm in charge of the music.

I am responsible for putting together a wedding playlist that will not offend those with more MOR tastes but retains a certain element of coolness. It's gotta be smooth with an edge, a delicate balance for sure, but a challenge I'm totally up for.

As I assumble this mega-MP3-mix, I'll post my selections here. Some songs are obvious, The Hip's "Long Time Running" and Pearl Jam's cover of "Throw Your Arms Around Me" spring to mind, but I'm going for 100 tunes. My wedding 100 is coming soon. Feel free to throw suggestings in the comments.

A few rules...

1. No more than two songs from any one artist.

2. The theme / lyrics should be "loving".
